IUEU Centre News

October, 2007

Sue Wright (University of Portsmouth) was an official IUEU guest, based at Macquarie University, from Monday 8 to Thursday 11 October. She held a seminar on Monday, on "Citizenship tests in the UK.Why now, and for what purpose?", followed by discussion. The seminar, which was attended by a cross-section of Divisional staff and postgraduate students, was chaired by Christie Slade, Dean of Humanities and Deputy-Chair of the IUEU centre. In addition, Sue Wright made herself available for consultation with several research higher degree students in the division. Finally, she was briefed on a book project on forms of citizenship testing throughout the world, to which several staff in the division are expected to contribute, under the general editorship of Christie Slade and Martina Möllering.
