Malmö Delegation Visit to Macquarie University – 15th October
A group of five delegates from the International Migration and Ethnic Relations (IMER) School at Malmö University, Sweden, visited Macquarie University on Monday 15 October.
The group was interested in exchanging experiences of the Global Citizenship Program. In the Global Citizenship program, participating students at one of the Australian partner universities have the opportunity to study at a European university for a semester, and to attend an intensive school at another European university.
The academic staff in the group were alsointerested in research areas such as multiculturalism, bilingualism, racism, xenophobia, integration, welfare and minority rights and met with academic staff in related areas while visiting Macquarie.
Ms Pia Larsson, International Coordinator at Malmö, also visited Macquarie on Wednesday 17 October and provided information about the Global Citizenship Program at a first year Societies of Europe lecture with Dr Halyna Kocharsky, Senior Lecturer, Head of Ukrainian Studies, Department of European Languages.
