Welcome to the EU AU Global
Leadership Forum
Join fellow students from around the world and Australia at the EU-AU Global Leadership Forum in Sydney.
The Forum is based on an exchange agreement between Europe and Australia, though students from all nations
and disciplines of study are welcome to participate. The Forum is jointly coordinated by Macquarie’s
Division of Humanities and the Macquarie Global Leadership Program (GLP).
The Forum is designed to introduce you to themes of global leadership and global citizenship in an
Australian context. The innovative program includes academic seminars, experiential learning in the
Sydney community, visits to relevant organisations and project work in teams.
The main themes of the event will include:
- Australia’s historical context and global outlook
- Immigration, culture & media
- Australia’s place in the Asia Pacific.
You will find these three themes not only provide relevant insight into Australia and the Asia Pacific region,
but are globally relevant. Students will be divided into project teams and will have a simulated problem to solve over the three days.
The project topic will relate to the main themes of the Forum. Project teams will be require to develop a
presentation to be given on the final evening.
The Forum is also an excellent opportunity to establish friendships with other Australian and international
students learning about global citizenship.
